Write Every Day: February 3

Good morning!

Posting this before bed again, so no writing for me yet. Yesterday I managed ~200 words on one WiP despite fighting a migraine for most of the day; hoping today holds many more words and much less head pain.

How are the words coming for you all today? Or editing, planning, or noodling? :)

(By the way, please let me know if I make a mistake with any of your names! I write these posts in Markdown so I use the @username function for tagging, which means I'm typing each name every day, and, well, typos happen.)

Sorry to hear about the migraine, I hope it's gone by now or at leat much better! *hugs* Migraines just suck.
Yesterday was a crappy writing day for me, just an alibi sentence and the classical writing desperation "I can't do this, this sucks, I'm a total loser, I don't want to write this" - the whole package), but I also got my extension and hopefully more leisure from today onwards. At least I feel somewhat less loser-y today.

Perhaps you're interested in how I'm doing [personal profile] zwei_hexen's tallies when it's our turn; I'm generally lazy, particularly in using the mouse, prone to typos, and love efficiency, so I'm working with a prepared txt file that's easy to adapt and fill in.
I'm using a text editor which numbers the lines on the left (sorry, I have no idea how they're called, let alone in English) which makes things easy. I started to do it in this way as at times, DW has issues with editing entries and scrambles up the code, particularly if you're working with cuts, so I preferred to have my code saved outside just in case anyway; I also found it much easier to put in people reporting in at a later date - and it evolved from there. (I'm also used to writing entries in code as I've done a lot of plain HTML in my day and it's still much more familiar than markdown.)
In my txt file, I'm keeping the lines that are always the same on top, and have a block list of all usernames at the bottom. Then, for every day, I first write the date and put in the link to that entry (this used to be done by everybody but not any longer, but I'm still doing it as I use these links quite often), and then copy the block of current participants underneath.
When going through the comments, I push each username forward with a tab, then delete those who haven't reported in for the day - this also makes the counting easier as I took over counting each day how many out of the lot has reported in (I don't know if anybody is interested in this, but everybody did it when I joined so I kept it *g* ). After that, I just delete the tabs/spaces and have my code block ready to be copied & pasted into the new entry. Afer having perfected this to my own preferences, it now takes me less than five minutes to do a new entry. I hope my explanation isn't too chaotic and puzzling. ;op
