Write Every Day: February 11

just a short post from me today; my sleep schedule is STILL all over the place. haven't yet been successful in righting it. I think the problem is late night is kind of "my time" -- always has been -- and so I find myself doing all the things I really wanted to do during the day at night. which leads to 7am bedtimes. and I'm not in high school anymore so I can't physically handle the all-nighter to right my schedule, so it's much harder to fix.

so, no writing yet; will hopefully get some words before bed (which will hopefully be earlier than 7am on the 12th, haha). as well as replying to comments -- just wanted to get this up before it got too late.

Day 11: A bit of editing, a wad of free-writing... Nothing substantial, but a tiny bit of progress.

I'm a night-owl too, and often do my best writing late at night. But, alas, I still have to get up at 7:00. even if I stay up til 3:00. And I haven't been in high school for a long time. ;-)

Feb 11 - 200ish words, more on the last SWG NYR piece. I have a little more time to get it posted, for which I am grateful, and it feels like it has mostly come together. I want another pair of eyes to read it over as a sanity check, but it may be essentially done, once I come up with a drabble for the end.

Not that many words, which was not for lack of inspiration, but because my day was crammed and I was very tired. But also I made a recording with questions about the finished chapter, and sent to my beta.

It seems I missed the check-in yesterday; it's been only 203 new words for the 10th, it's not been a good writing day. We were supposed to be at the funeral of our best friends' dad but couldn't make it due to the snow, but we kind of distance-participated with ligthing a candle and keeping quiet company at home during. Yesterday's been better and my story took properly off; 4030 words with most of them keepable, so yeah. Anyhoo, I need to finish today, so keep your fingers crossed for me if you've got a few minutes! XD
I can relate 100% to your sleeping issues, it's the same for me - with a slightly earlier bedtime, but I often go to bed when my husband gets up at 5.30. It used to be not as bad, but in that regard the lockdowns and self-isolations since nearly a year aren't good for me _at all_. Last year was better insofar as I could at least sleep well, but since New Year I'm also back with my occasional serious sleeping issues, and am chronically sleep-deprived.

Feb 11th - Despite the log delivery I managed 882 words. A 500 word challenge ficlet, and then I did some editing/expanding on a couple of existing fics that I wasn't entirely happy with.

Today I feel like my arms might fall off from lugging logs. Typing is more than enough physical activity for me today.

Yesterday was my husband's bday, and I also got the second Moderna shot, so I was sort of bracing myself for unpleasant side effects, which I did not have last night (and am having now, instead, at work...oh, joy). Anyway, I edited one chapter instead of my usual two, but at least wording happened. ;-)

heh, neither have i...but i keep forgetting my body doesn't want to do the things it did 17 years ago and trying to push it. it pushes back pretty hard, haha.

right now i'm working towards going back to school (for the third time, zomg) so i can get a promotion at my work to a thing where i'll be able to work from home...and thus, i hope, set my own hours. but it's a long process; right now being at a paper hospital means working from home options are limited!

ugh, i totally know what you mean. *offers hugs* combination of lockdowns, depression (over...*gestures vaguely* everything), and needing to try to stick to a "normal human schedule" both for my puppy's sake and my ability to continue getting work shifts has meant chronic sleep deprivation for me too. oh, and painsomnia some nights, that doesn't help at all. (note to self: actually take your damn pain killer today.)

yay for getting the shot, even if it had delayed unpleasant side effects. i hope they weren't too severe! i can't work after getting the flu shot; i need like a week to recover from the side effects i get from it; it's basically like having a mini-flu. (i'm being super cautious about the Covid vaccines as a result and will probably avoid getting them until more is known about specific reactions.)
