man, what happened to today? oddly, not my sleep schedule; i was up at 0700 today after going to bed at a respectable 0200. but then when my surprise work shift got cancelled i decided to bow to the inevitability of exhaustion and went back to bed for a nap around noon. woke up at around 1530 feeling quite refreshed.

and then...i'm not really sure what else happened except now it's 2246 and i'm going OH CRAP I HAVEN'T POSTED FOR WRITE EVERY DAY.

i wish i could say this never happens to me but this seems to be my life, so. c'est la vie. or, as i thought it was spelled when i was a kid: sailor V!

being able to schedule posts better on Dreamwidth would probably help...as it is, I'll post the 13th's check-in post before bed tonight so it's up earlier for y'all. of course, some have already checked in for the 12th (a-okay! if i've not posted, please check-in on the most recent post and i'll be sure to get your name on the tally), so if you want to check in for the 13th (or 14th for some of you) go right ahead!

also let me know if i've missed you on one of the days in this post...pretty sure i got everyone, but my brain is not to be trusted!

Feb 12 - 100 ish on what I think is the last drabble in Aurora II. And I got feedback from one of my pre-readers who really liked the whole thing, which is very reassuring.

Day 12: wrote 1,340 words to finish up, lightly edit, and post my palate cleanser fic! Which means it's time to return to my other draft WIP for edits tomorrow.

I went to bed at 2 again but didn't get up until almost 9. Now it's 10.15 on the 13th and I'm checking in for yesterday...

Feb 12th - 1285 words. What I thought would be a short piece, around 500 words, grew to over 1200 words, but I'm really pleased with it. Also did some editing on a fic for posting.

It doesn't mean I sleep that long though. I seldom sleep more than two hours without waking up, so I end up getting maybe 5 hours of broken sleep. Still feel worn out.

Fought to finish my exchange fic in time -I was given leave to post until early this morning. This I needed, I literally wrote the night through, but I'm done! *phew* 5k written in about 21 hours with breaks, for a fic of 8,7k overall. And I'm frustrated like whoa because I wasn't able to manage my writing better, despite having enough time and good ideas early enough, and because everything was so rushed in the end that I needed to leave out various smaller scenes that would've made the story much more well-rounded and satisfying, and take other short-cuts, too, leaving me with a few parts which are quite a bit off my usual standard. /O\
Off to do the necessary last-minute polishing etc., and hopefully get some more sleep later.
