hey all. I appreciate the well-wishes.

said emergency is less emergent, but has affected my life in a lot of ways that are not ideal to running WED, so I've asked sanguinity to take over for the next couple of days; pending their acceptance, they'll be doing posts for the next few days. hopefully I'll be back soon.

rather more sorting out not-that-important details for this scene than writing, but also some story words

Good job on the words and the research! I know some people say that sorting details like that is procrastination, but honestly, it has to be done sometime, and it often helps me work out how I want the story to go, for the next writing section.

Feb 22nd - 848 words, my Monday regular 4 double drabbles and some editing on a ficlet for posting.

Thank you! It's a routine I settled into years ago. I don't know why, but the two of us who are mods sort of decided without talking about it that we'd each write 4 drabbles for the new prompt at tw100 every week, and then we decided to allow double drabbles as well, so... I can count on 800 words most Mondays, or at least 400 if my ideas won't stretch to double drabbles, but that seldom happens. 200 words is often easier than keeping it down to 100.

I can believe that: I've never successfully managed a drabble, but I've written a handful of 221Bs. (A form from the Holmesian fandoms: 221 words on the dot, final word begins with 'b'...)

What a satisfying tradition! I'm glad you and your co-mod are getting so much out of it!

Maybe you could give traditional drabbles a try. The 221Bs sound like fun though.

We're the only two people writing for the communuity most weeks, so having 8 drabbles posted for every prompt looks better than one each.

Oh, I'm sure I'll give them a try again. Just because I've had no success in the past, doesn't mean I won't someday crack one.

Good for you two on keeping the community active. I'm mod of a fandom-specific comm, and while I'm still active in the fandom, I can't single-handedly come up with enough material to keep the comm going.

Maybe you could recruit some new co-mods. Thet can be very helpful.

I run three communities myself, two multi-fandom fanfic communities (one for drabbles and one for all fic) and a craft one. I'm also co-mod on two other communities, so I have plenty to keep me busy.
