Write Every Day - February 26

[sanguinity]

Started outlining at lunch where-I-am-and-where-I'm-going. Didn't get far in the time I had available, but the exercise did make more concrete where each of the characters are right now -- something I was surprisingly sketchy on, despite having written the scenes that brought them here. I hope to have more time to work on this after dinner, but we'll see how it goes.

I'm glad to hear you're making progress, even if it's the kind that creates more questions than answers. Ah, process, how we love and loathe you in equal measure! Lol!

I rewrote a lot of the H50 fic yesterday, losing rather than gaining words, and still really don't like it, so I'm scrapping it. I don't think I've done that on a fanfic in more than a decade. I mean, it's finished at 720 words, but I won't be posting it. It just doesn't hang together.

I'm going to take another run at the prompt instead and see if that garners me anything. If not, I may abandon that prompt temporarily in favor of a different one.

In general, I've been moody and restless this past week, so I'm sure that has something to do with it all.

I am VERY much in the love-and-loathe place right now. Today's writing didn't go as well as I would have liked, although I do think it was at least marginally productive. Ah, well! Sometimes the words make you work for them.

Oh, boo! Scrapping a fic can be so disappointing, I'm sorry. I wish you better luck on your next run at the prompt.

And yeah, "moody and restless" can absolutely affect how productive a writing session feels. My usual solution is to work through it anyway -- writing has a tendency to stabilize my mood, most times, even the crappy writing days. I hope you find something that works for you.

Sometimes you need to scrap things, though, but it's always hard, isn't it? I hope you're feeling better soon, and the writing behaves better as well. *hugs*
